Glide has a wide range of experience of formulating small molecules, peptides and proteins for delivery with the Glide SDI. The formulations can be designed for either immediate or controlled release. Case Studies from selected internal programmes can be downloaded from this website.
Glide is developing its own products based on generically available drugs and has taken two products into the clinic. Glide fentanyl demonstrated a quick release of fentanyl into the systemic circulation during a volunteer study to address an acute pain indication. Glide octreotide demonstrated that bioequivalence can be achieved in humans when compared to a standard subcutaneous needle and syringe injection. Octreotide is indicated for acromegaly and diarrhoea caused by cancerous tumour.
Other benefits of a solid dosage form such as controlled release and improved stability have been demonstrated by Glide and examples can be seen in the Case Studies.
Glide has also undertaken a number of preclinical vaccine studies including challenge studies with an influenza vaccine and a Hib antigen. Improved efficacy has been demonstrated during studies with Hib, diphtheria and influenza (please see Case Studies) vaccines.
In addition, Glide Pharma is working with a number of both large and small pharmaceutical partners who are investigating the delivery of their proprietary molecules with the Glide SDI.
